Unleash the V8 Thunder!

The SSMDG Classicsracer V8 Sportscar Showdown is a highly anticipated sprint race championship

that brings together the best V8 sportscars of the modern era,

including models from BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, and Mercedes.

These cars have been tuned to deliver 475 horsepower

and have a base weight of less than 1,280 kg, making for an exhilarating and competitive race.

(Note: The race management team identified a performance discrepancy with the modified Dodge Charger following the GT7 1.40 update.
After conducting thorough testing, they have made the decision to replace it with the BMW M4 to ensure a balanced performance across all race cars in this championship.)

Twenty-four 55km sprint races over eight championship rounds are held at circuits in Europe and America

SSMDG race management determines the Balance of Performance according to

the Driver's Level and their race performance to ensure close racing.

The championship is open to all levels of racers, from FIA Gran Turismo drivers to new drivers to virtual racing. SSMDG has a great Driver's Level system to ensure all levels of drivers can mix in the race.

About the SSMD Group

SSMDG Gran Turismo Championship

The SSMD Group Gran Turismo Championship has a rich history dating back to 2009 when fourteen drivers based in Hong Kong competed in various championships for two years.

However, as many drivers started families, the racing had to be put on hold.

In August 2018, Franco Wong and Bem Ho reconnected and, along with other drivers, launched the SSMD Group Gran Turismo Championship. Today, the championship is growing with

twenty-three drivers and counting.

Each championship season features a new theme, ranging from Touring Car Races and Japanese Performance to Classicsracer S660 Fun Cupand the current Classicsracer V8 Sportscar Showdown.

The seasons consist of eight rounds, with one round of three races, held every fortnight.

The races include a qualifying event to determine the final sixteen grid slots.

To accommodate drivers of different skill levels, the SSMDG Driver's Level is ranked in Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Green based on their experience in Gran Turismo and Average Score per Attended Race (ASPAR) in the SSMDG Gran Turismo Championship.

To ensure fair races, a unique Balance of Performance system is applied to drivers based on

the Lap Analysis of each race. Additionally, SSMDG Race Regulations are in place to cover

any rules missed by the Gran Turismo AI system.
