Technical Overview
The race cars' technical setting is according to each championship's technical regulations.
 
Race Format
There are eight rounds in the current season. For each round, there will be a qualifying session of 15 minutes followed by three SSMDG races of an equal distance of 55km.
 
The points system is 20-17-15-13-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 for the top 15 finishers.

Single bonus points are awarded for the fastest qualifier, the fastest lap in each race and for leading a lap during races.

For BoP Test Day, points are awarded to the top 8 drivers with the fastest average lap time after the three timed sessions in 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. For the race session, points are awarded to the top 8 finishers in 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1.

Race Grids​

  • The starting grid for Race One is determined during the qualifying session.  

  • The starting grid for Race Two is based on the finishing order of Race One, with the winner of Race One starting in first position, the second-place finisher starting in second position, and so on. Competitors not classified as finishers in the First Race will be placed on the starting grid for the Second Race after the last classified competitor according to the number of laps covered.  

  • The starting grid for Race Three is determined by the finishing order of Race Two. A specific rule is in place to reverse the grid positions of a number of finishers from Race Two. Any number between the first six and twelfth finishers from Race Two is chosen at random after the finish of Race Two. The chosen number determines the grid position reversal for Race Three. For example, if the number eight is chosen, the car that finished eighth in Race Two starts from pole position, followed by the seventh-place finisher, the sixth-place finisher, and so on. The remaining grid positions follow the finishing order of Race Two. If a driver within the reversed grid positions receives a time penalty related to Race Two, their grid position remains based on the finishing order of Race Two unless the penalty pushes them out of the reversed grid positions. All other classified finishers from Race Two are assigned grid positions in Race Three according to their finishing order. Competitors who were not classified as finishers in Race Two are placed on the starting grid for Race Three after the last classified competitor, based on the number of laps they covered. If there are fewer than sixteen drivers in Race Two, the grid position reversal will be drawn according to the chart below. If there are nine drivers or fewer in Race Two, there is no pole position drawing. Instead, the driver who finished fifth in Race Two starts from pole position, followed by the fourth-place finisher, third-place finisher, and so on.

Success Ballast
Cars that are successful in the SSMDG Gran Turismo Championship must carry
ballast (additional weight) in their cars.

Maximum success ballast will be increased to 50kg, thereafter reducing in 10kg increments down
to fifth place as follows: 1st: 50kg, 2nd: 40kg, 3rd: 30kg, 4th: 20kg, 5th: 10kg.

  • Between events, the ballast is allocated according to championship positions
    and is carried in qualifying and race one.

  • For races two and three, the ballast is allocated according to the finishing positions
    in races one and two, respectively.

 
Note
These regulations may be amended by SSMDG during the season, with all teams
and officials are notified of any changes via official championship bulletins.

Driver Level

Bring Racing Closer

The race management of SSMDG utilised ASPAR (Average Score per Attended Race)
to rate drivers into Gold, Silver, Bronze and Green.

 

With the driver level, the race management will apply a Balance of Performance

to each driver during the championship in order to bring closer racing.

All Race Protest must fill in this form

Driver who raise race protest is required to fill in a Race Protest Form and acknowledge the race stewards.

Race Penalty Appeal Form

All Race Penalty Appeal must fill in this form

Drivers who have a race penalty appeal are required to fill in a Race penalty Appeal Form and acknowledge the race stewards.
