Balance of Performance, Qualify, Lead Lap Bonus, Option Tires
In Gran Turismo 7 version 1.11, the race control functions in the online racing module “Lobby” are not fully in operation. As it does not have the “Qualifying” Race, Race Results with Timing and Lap Analysis. Therfore, the SSMDG Gran Turismo Championship (Championship) could not apply the Balance of Performace using the lap time data, proceeding of Qualifying Race and awarding the Lead Lap Bonus for the championship. Also, the Racing tire compound offered in Gran Turismo 7 are Racing Hard, Racing Medium and Racing Soft. The Option Tires requirement in Page 5 of the Regualtion will not be viable. Therefore, until the Gran Turismo 7 has a fully functional “Lobby”, the championship will apply the follow changes to the Balance of Performance, Qualifying Race, Bonus Point system and Tires.

During racing, when the driver receives a “Time Penalty”, the driver is required to decelerate at the “Penalty Line”. In addition, the championship requires all penalized drivers must stay close to the pit line wall when approaching the “Penalty Line”. If any driver is not obeying the requirement and causes an incident, they will be penalized at least 10 seconds of the final result with a race reprimand recorded.

Mechanical Damage Level Adjustment
After the Round 1 race, the Race Stewards studied the sensitivity of the Mechanical Damage in the race Lobby. With the Mechanical Damage level set to “Heavy”, the race car damage is severe even with the lightest touches.
SSMDG Gran Turismo Championship is a very close racing championship. Therefore, to ensures good competitive racing, the Race Stewards have decided to change the setting of the Mechanical Damage level to “Light” from Round 2 onwards.

Balance of Performance Adjustment Update
To further enhance the accuracy of the Balance of Performance (BoP) of the championship. The Race Stewards has further studied the method of car weight adjustment listed in Race Bulletin 202204C86CB001. They found that it would be more accurate to incorporate the Qualifying Time and the average race lap time of each round of the races to determine the BoP.

Race Restarts
During the races of Round 4, there were network situations that caused miss-match timing of the starting light and caused the race cars not to start simultaneously. To ensure there is a fair starting grid for each race. The Race Stewards have the right to call for a Race Restart with immediate effect.

‘Option’ Compounds
'Option' RSS (Racing Super Soft) tyre compound must be used for one of the race in a championship round.
Race Grids
The grid for race one is decided during the qualifying session.
The grid for race two is based on the finishing order of race one
The grid for race three is based on finishing positions of race two. However, there is also a reversed-grid element to the starting order. Numbers representing the cars that finished from sixth to 16th position in race two are entered into a computer, and one number is drawn at random by the software. The corresponding car will start on pole, with the cars that finished ahead of it reversed i.e. if number six is chosen, the car that finished sixth in race two will start from pole ahead of the car that finished fifth, fourth, third etc. The remainder of the grid follows as per the finishing order of race two
Success Ballast
Cars that are successful in the SSMDG Gran Turismo Championship must carry ballast (additional weight) in their cars.
Maximum success ballast will be increased to 5%, thereafter reducing in 1% increments down to fifth place as follows: 1st: 25kg, 2nd: 20kg, 3rd: 15kg, 4th: 10kg, 5th: 5kg
Between events, the ballast is allocated according to championship positions and is carried in qualifying and race one
For races two and three, the ballast is allocated according to the finishing positions in race one and two respectively
Note
These regulations may be amended by SSMDG during the course of the season with all teams and officials notified of any changes via official championship bulletins.
Driver Level
Bring Racing Closer
The race management of SSMDG utilised ASPAR (Average Score per Attended Race) to rate drivers into Gold, Silver, Green, Light Blue and Dark Blue.
With the driver level, the race management will apply Balance of Performance to each driver during the championship in order to bring closer racing.
